NTFSTool Pro features

Full read and write for Windows drives, plus the disk tools you'd otherwise need three apps for. No kernel extension, no lowered security.

Read and write, automatically

  • Plug in an NTFS drive and it mounts with full read and write. Copy, edit, rename and delete in Finder as usual.
  • Only the drive you just plugged in gets mounted, and a drive you ejected yourself stays ejected.
  • After sleep, drives that were mounted before come back on their own.
  • Each mount is checked with a real write test, so you know it's writable before you start copying.

Fix and prepare drives

  • One-click First Aid for drives Windows left in a dirty or hibernated state, with a warning before hibernation data is cleared.
  • Erase a drive as NTFS, right on your Mac.
  • Rename NTFS drives. The new name is read back and checked.
  • Per-drive settings: open read-only, or don't mount automatically.

Know your disks

  • S.M.A.R.T. health status, so you hear about a failing disk before you lose files.
  • Built-in speed test: sequential, 4K random and small-file performance, with and without cache.
  • Shows how each drive is connected (USB 2.0, 3.x, USB4) and tells you when the cable or port is the bottleneck.
  • Run the speed test on any drive or folder, not just NTFS.

Stays out of your way

  • Lives in the menu bar: see usage, make a drive writable, eject one or all.
  • Starts quietly at login, with no Dock icon unless you want one.
  • Notifications when a drive mounts, fails, or was unplugged without ejecting.
  • Enter your admin password once. It isn't asked for again after a restart.

Built for today's Macs

  • No kernel extension, no Recovery Mode, no lowered security settings.
  • If a mount fails, NTFSTool retries and repairs automatically before it bothers you.
  • Universal app for Intel and Apple silicon. macOS 12 or later; the classic version covers macOS 10.15–11.
  • Speaks 20 languages, with a report button in the app and email replies within 48 hours.
