About NTFSTool

We have been making Windows drives work on the Mac since 2019.

Our story

NTFSTool started in 2019 as an open-source project by a developer who was tired of Windows drives being read-only on the Mac. Thousands of people starred it and many more used it.

Early versions used a kernel extension signed by Apple. As macOS tightened security, we rebuilt NTFSTool so it no longer needs one: no Recovery Mode, no lowered security settings, and Apple Pay keeps working.

Today there are two editions: a free edition on the Mac App Store for macOS 15.6 or later, and NTFSTool Pro, a native Mac app with automatic mounting, repair tools and support for macOS 12 or later.
